After having put 2 unenjoyable books behind me, I do have to say that as usual to Murakami’s style, this story simply flowed with ease. When you sit down with the book, you’re softly enveloped into a different world, the storyline unfolding with ease. Nevertheless, I do have to say that “Killing Commendatore” has not made it to the position of one of my Murakami favorites. There was something about the events, that developed a bit too slowly for my taste, a lot of the characters hardly being relatable at all and the peculiar events taking place, just being a bit too weird, even for Murakami standards.
It will be an enjoyable & relaxing read for Murakami fans, who can’t wait to get their hands on another book by the author. If you’re someone who wants to dive into the Murakami universe for the very first time, stay away from it & go for one of his old books instead 😉
